Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) — Streams, Latest Draws & 2025 Policy Updates

July 3, 2025

Alberta’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)—officially branded the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP)—lets the province nominate skilled workers, entrepreneurs, graduates and farmers whose profiles match Alberta’s economic priorities. In 2025 the province can issue 4,875 nominations, with 2,688 already used as of July 2 2025 (AAIP processing information).

Why Alberta Runs Its Own PNP

  • Close critical skill gaps. Employers still face shortages in construction, technology, health care, agriculture, policing and tourism.
  • Revitalize smaller communities. Rural towns need newcomers to stem out-migration and population aging.
  • Diversify the economy. Entrepreneur and farm streams attract investors who broaden Alberta’s economic base.

AAIP’s sector-targeted draws mean the province can invite exactly the talent it needs (program overview).
